5 Micro Resets

A nervous-system literate framework for returning to steadiness in an
overstimulated world.

WE GOT SOMETHING WRONG.

We were told that calm was the goal.

Calm is not the goal. Flexibility is.

An optimal nervous system isn't one that's calm all the time.

It's one that's flexible, able to move between states and return to steadiness when the road gets bumpy.

Nous & Soma was born out of burnout, and disconnectionfrom my own body, wisdom and truth.

In my 40s life handed me a powerful wake-up call - a thyroid cancer diagnosis (thankfully, the slow growing
kind) and a mental breakdown.

What felt like a breaking point became the cralyst forprofound transformation.

This wasn't just about healing my body - it was aboutrestoring my nervous system, reclaiming my energy, and
reconnecting with my spirit
.

I began to slow down, listen to my body's wisdominstead of overidding it, and let go of beliefs that no longer
served me. That's when true healing began.

THE FIVE MICRO RESETS

A Practical Framework for Returning to Baseline

We do not arrive at steadiness once and hold it permanently.

We return to it - repeatedly, deliberately – through practice and creating conscious opportunities - across five dimensions of human experience.

These returns are what we call Micro-Resets: precision state shifts:

Short, 1–5 minute interventions designed to
accelerate the nervous system’s return to regulation after activation.

This is why our drinks are designed as somatic anchors: Warm, grounding, embodied rituals that signal safety through the body before the mind has caught up.

EXHAUSTION HAS BECOME A WAY OF LIFE

Not because we work too hard, but because we were never taught how to come back.

  • 01. SOMATIC RESET

    Through the body.

The body is the first site of dysregulation and the most direct route back to safety. Breath, movement, temperature, touch, daily ritual. Bottom-up signals that override top-down cognitive patterns.

Our drinks were designed here: as somatic anchors.

  • 02. SENSORY RESET

    Through the senses

A change of environment. Natural light.

    A particular scent. Silence.

Small, deliberate acts of sensory restoration that interrupt chronic activation faster than almost any cognitive intervention

  • 03. CREATIVE RESET

    Through making.

Creativity is not a talent. It is a neurological reset. When we make something - write, cook, draw, garden, build - we shift from threat-response networks into networks associated with flow, safety, and integration.

No skill required. No outcome needed. Just the act of making.

  • 04 .RELATIONAL RESET

    Through connection

The nervous system is fundamentally relational. It co-regulates - settling in the presence of safe others, activating in the presence of threat.

Relational resets are not performed socialising or digital contact. They are moments of genuine co-regulation: being truly seen, heard, and met by another person.

These are among the most powerful resets available to us.
    And among the most neglected.

  • 05. SPIRITUAL RESET

    Through meaning

Spiritual resets reconnect us to something larger than the immediate moment - through stillness, nature, practice, or the simple act of asking what actually matters.

This is not religion. It is the restoration of the sense that life has a shape worth inhabiting.
