For years I lived at a distance from myself - performing capability, overriding my body, disconnected from my spirit and my own truth.

In my 40s, my body sent a signal I could no longer ignore. A thyroid cancer diagnosis. It had found my throat – the place of voice, of truth, of everything I had spent years learning not to say.

Sitting in that cancer ward, I heard an inner voice tell me, "...You are living like a dead person. But you are not dead yet..."

I had been achieving, delivering, and performing societal roles – while slowly losing the thread back to myself. Somewhere along the way I had stopped trusting my own signals and started organising my life around the outside world instead.

And I could suddenly see where that path led:
to the end of a life that had never quite been mine.

I could have treated the symptom. Instead, I began to look at what had created it.

I slowed down. I listened to my body's wisdom instead of overriding it. I returned to the practices and traditions I had grown up with - and discovered the science that confirmed what they had always known.

Nous & Soma was born from that return. From my own experience of nervous system collapse and recovery, and everything I learned - through science, through practice, through simply paying attention - about what it means to rebuild from the inside out.

This is not just a wellness brand.

It is a daily practice of returning to yourself.

Because everything else depends on that return.
